‘Studio Pottery’ is the term applied to individual or short runs of items produced either by the owner of the pottery or by those working under their guidance or supervision.
Although some 19th-century potters made such items, studio pottery is generally considered to have begun in the early 20th century and progressed in the post-war period.
Items are considered unique due to their handmade and hand-decorated nature.
