Riihimaën Lasi Oy

Riihimäki was founded in Finland in 1910 and changed its name to Riihimaën Lasi Oy in 1937.

Initially it produced container, window and domestic glass, including cut lead crystal tableware and mould blown pieces. During the 1930s and 1940s, talented new designers joined the glassworks as a result of design competitions.

From the 1950s to the 1960s, most pieces produced were mould-blown in strong, jewel-like colours. Geometric forms and textured surfaces were common during this period.

Legacy stocks a good selection of collectible pieces by popular designers such as Tamara Aladin and Aimo Okkolin.
