This is a charming retro posy holder or potpourri pot produced by the Charmouth Pottery.
The body is globular in shape with a raised rim, the latter having been glazed in dark brown. The ‘shoulder’ is pierced with four large holes, each alternating with a series of three smaller holes arranged in a triangle. The exterior has a circumferentially ridged surface. The outside is glazed in a mottled brown with a freehand stylised leaf design on one side.
The base is unglazed and marked with the words ‘CHARMOUTH POTTERY’ in black.
It has a height of approximately 6.9cm, with an aperture at the top of 4.2cm and a diameter across the base of about 5.9cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 180g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
