This is a classic example of a lobed bowl by Elis Bergh and produced by Kosta in around the 1940s.
The bowl is unevenly formed with five lobes. This is drawn in towards the base, which has five thickened lobed feet which are polished flat. It is hand engraved in the centre with ‘B2119’.
It is made from blue-grey tinted glass.
It has a height of approximately 9.5cm, with a width across the rim of about 25.6cm and across the base of about 9.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1300g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are numerous scratches to the rim, body, and base commensurate with use. This is more visible when the piece is held up to the light. This wear is reflected in the price.
