Retro Blue Glass Water Jug and Six Matching Tumblers

This is a highly attractive retro water jug set, probably Polish in origin and dating to the 1970s.

The capacious jug has a vibrant blue glass body, with a pinched rim and waisted lower portion. The base is thickened with a central polished pontil. The handle has been separately applied in flint (clear) glass.

The six tumblers echo the design of the jug, with a waisted blue glass body.

The pieces are unmarked.

The jug has a height of about 17.4cm. Each glass has a height of approximately 8.3cm and a diameter across the rim of about 7.1cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.

The jug has a liquid capacity (to just below the spout) of 1350ml. Each tumbler has a liquid capacity to the brim of 230ml.

The set has an unwrapped weight of 1560g.

They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd scuff and blemish to the glass that is commensurate with age.
