This is a highly attractive retro glass jug or vase, possibly Italian in origin and dating to between the 1960s and the 1970s.
The body is approximately in the form of a short, waisted cylinder. There is a wide, sloping shoulder with a broad neck. The rim slopes upwards from the attachment of the handle to the small lip. The clear glass handle has been added separately, running from the edge of the shoulder to the attachment just below the rim. A further piece of clear glass has been added to the vertical portion of the handle and this has been crimped. The jug sits on a small discoid base which has a central polished pontil.
It has a maximum height of approximately 21.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.4cm and a maximum diameter across the body of about 16.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1060g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are several wear and tear scratches to the body and base commensurate with age.
