This is a highly attractive and unusual example of a lead crystal ewer or jug, probably dating to the 1930s but the maker is unknown.
The base is clear and polished flat. The body has alternating blue and white coloured twists within the glass that are arranged in a spiral pattern beginning in the centre of its base. The white twists appear pale lilac in certain light due to the internal reflections from the blue twists.
The coloured twists within the applied handle loop up within the glass from its lower attachment point.
It has a maximum height of approximately 24.7cm and a diameter across the base of 6.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 990g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
