This is a set of four simple but attractive lead crystal wine glasses, probably continental in origin and dating to the first part of the 20th century.
The capacious bowl is tulip-shaped and cut in the lower half with a band of twelve petal cuts that extend to the base of the bowl and onto the tapering stem. The cutting terminates where the stem meets the plain, flat foot. The latter is unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 15.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.4cm and across the foot of about 8.2cm. There are some differences in the dimensions due to the handmade nature of the glasses.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 220ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 870g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks., although there is the odd scratch to the underside of the feet commensurate with age.
