This is an iconic vase designed in 1963 by William Wilson and Harry Dyer for Whitefriars Glass.
The vase has a moulded ‘knobbly’ effect and has an inner ruby layer which is encased in a thick layer of flint glass. The base has a central polished pontil.
It has the pattern number 9609 and can be seen on page 16 of the 1966 Whitefriars catalogue.
The vase has a height of 17.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 11.2cm and across the base of about 10.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1420g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few wear and tear scratches to the body and base commensurate with age.
