Whitefriars Glass Swan Figure in Emerald Green c.1940s (9″ High)

This is a high-quality swan figure produced by Whitefriars Glass and probably dates to the mid-20th century.

The swan has been handmade from the less commonly seen ’emerald’ green colourway. The base is polished flat.

This piece can be seen on page 29 of the 1940 Whitefriars catalogue, which also documents the colour ’emerald’.

It has a height of approximately 22.9cm. The catalogue states that there are two sizes; 8 inches high and 10 inches high. However, it does mention that this can vary. This swan sits between the two sizes at roughly 9″ high.

It has an unwrapped weight of 730g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are numerous scratches to the base commensurate with age.
