This is a highly attractive and unusual bud vase produced by Whitefriars Glass and dating to the 1960s.
The vase is of elongated teardrop form, with a narrow, drawn-out neck. The body sits on a conical domed foot, which is unmarked.
The whole is made from ruby red glass.
This piece is the larger of two made in this style and has pattern number 9607. It can be seen on page 5 of the 1966 Whitefriars catalogue.
It has a height of approximately 23.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 2.4cm and across the foot of about 7.2cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 150g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
