This is an attractive ceramic posy holder produced by SylvaC that dates from the 1950s to the 1960s.
The posy is semi-circular in shape and moulded in the form of a log. The front and back slope inwards towards the rim and the random moulded pattern is divided by vertical ribs. The whole is glazed in a green colour.
The base has a raised semi-circular unglazed ridge, which is unglazed and shows the underlying ceramic body to be white. The words ‘SYLVAC ENGLAND’ and the pattern number ‘1964’ are impressed into the base.
It has a height of approximately 4.7cm, with a maximum width across the front of about 16.0cm and a depth from front to back of 8.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 240g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is crazing to the glaze.
