This is a nice example of a cream jug and sugar bowl set produced by Blue Mountain Pottery in Canada.
The cream jug is of a classic form, with a conical body and flared rim. The latter is drawn out to form a pouring spout. The handle is angular and has a darker glaze finish.
The sugar bowl is of plain circular form with a lid that has a central drawn-out knop.
Both pieces are glazed on the interior and exterior with the classic mottled and streaked green glaze.
The underside of the base of both pieces is moulded in relief with the word ‘CANADA’ and a logo consisting of three trees. This mark was designed by Chris Yaneff and was in use from 1967 to 1976.
The jug has a maximum height of approximately 11.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.5cm and across the base of about 9.5cm. The sugar bowl has a maximum height of about 11.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 10.8cm and across the base of about 8.4cm.
They have an unwrapped weight of 690g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
