This is a highly attractive example of a large flower vase produced by the Cinque Ports Pottery at The Monastery in Rye.
The vase has a conical rim that tapers in to meet the inversely conical body. This is rounded near the bottom and sits on a discoid base. It is glazed with an abstract geometric design in shades of brown. The interior is glazed in dark brown.
The base is marked with two concentric circles and the words ‘CINQUE PORTS POTTERY LTD THE MONASTERY RYE’.
It has a height of approximately 24.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.9cm and across the base of about 8.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 720g.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
