This is a high-quality cut lead crystal brandy glass, pattern unknown but produced by Tudor Crystal.
The capacious balloon-shaped bowl is cut around the centre with six large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Within the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent crosses is a lattice formed from two pairs of parallel lines. Each large cross is bisected by a large vertical wedge cut.
There is a broad collar at the base of the bowl that tapers in and merges with the short, cylindrical stem. The foot is plain and discoid; it is marked in the centre with the words ‘TUDOR ENGLAND’.
It has a height of approximately 11.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.9cm and across the foot of about 7.3cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 350ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 260g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
