This is a nice example of an unusual ceramic vase produced by SylvaC.
The vase has a tulip-shaped body, decorated with a moulded pattern of waves and swirls on a short conical base. The glaze is a random mottled pattern in black, green, pink, and blue. The inside is glazed in cream.
The base is impressed with the number ‘675’ and there is a reversed letter ‘R’ moulded in relief. The words ‘SYLVAC ENGLAND’ are transfer printed in brown glaze. This mark was in use in the 1940s and 1950s.
It has a height of approximately 12.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 5.5cm and across the base of about 7.2cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 260g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
