This is a classic Grecian-style ceramic flower urn or bowl produced by Wedgwood.
The bowl is oval in section with a tapering body. It is moulded with a raised ridged pattern. The vase stands on an oval plinth-like base.
The underside of the piece has a mauve-coloured circular mark with the words ‘WEDGWOOD OF ETRURIA & BARLASTON MADE IN ENGLAND’ as well as the letter ‘E’ and the number ‘3’. It is also impressed with the word ‘WEDGWOOD’ and the code ‘5 P 66’.
It has a height of approximately 12.6cm, with a maximum length of about 32.0cm and a width of about 12.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 840g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd mark to the glaze commensurate with age. One in particular is at the rim and is visible on close inspection (see pictures).
