This is a stylish contemporary ceramic flower vase by Scheurich Keramik of Germany.
The vase is of classic form, with a short rim leading immediately into the barrel-shaped body. The upper part of the vase has a smooth but slightly matt finish and is glazed in subtle ombré tones of pale blue, magenta, salmon pink and green. Below this, the body is decorated in a textured ‘lava’ glaze in a stone shade pitted with rusty orange.
The base is unglazed and is impressed with the Scheurich logo, the words ‘SCHEURICH MADE IN GERMANY’ and the numbers ‘551 – 18’. This dates it to after the German reunification in 1990.
It has a height of approximately 18.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 8.3cm and across the base of about 8.9cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 710g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
