This is a nice example of a lead crystal hollow candleholder, designed by Frank Thrower in 1971 for Dartington Glass.
The piece is simple yet elegant, with a cylindrical midsection that widens to form a galleried rim. The foot is plain and unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 19.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.7cm and across the foot of about 6.5cm.
This is the tallest product from the FT141 range and is referred to as ‘Large’ in the catalogue.
It has an unwrapped weight of 310g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is some puckering at the rim where the glass was cut. This is a manufacturing artefact and is only visible on close inspection.
