This is a fine example of a commemorative Christmas paperweight produced by Wedgwood Glass in 1980.
The paperweight is made from thick lead crystal and is moulded in the form of a Gothic arched window. The reverse is decorated with a transferred design resembling stained glass.
The base of the paperweight is plain and marked with the words ‘WEDGWOOD ENGLAND’.
In addition, it bears the original gold and blue label, which reads ‘WEDGWOOD GLASS ENGLAND HAND MADE’.
This paperweight was the first of five produced in this style from 1980 to 1984.
It has a height of approximately 10.8cm and a width across the base of about 7.1cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 470g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
