This is an attractive and unusual vase from the ‘Dovedale’ range, produced by Sylvac from the 1940s until 1965.
The vase is gourd-shaped, with an elongated trumpet-shaped rim. The glaze finish is often referred to as ‘mottled satin’ and consists of various colours, including green, pink, blue and black. The interior is glazed in yellow with a pale green band just below the rim.
The base is marked with the impressed number ‘1808’ and a raised rectangle containing the words ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a height of approximately 18.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 11.9cm and across the base of about 7.1cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 640g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
