This is a charming, rustic example of a stoneware flour shaker dating to the mid-20th century.
The shaker has a domed top which has been crudely pierced with thirteen holes arranged in a square formation. The body widens out towards the base and is printed on one side with the word ‘FLOUR’ in black.
There is a large looped handle with a thumb rest at the apex.
The base is domed and has a central hole which contains the original plastic bung. It is marked with the words ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a height of approximately 12.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of 7.0cm and across the base of about 8.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 410g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
