This is a classic example of a posy vase probably produced at The Pottery in Clevedon, Somerset, and owned by the Fishley Holland family.
The posy is globular in form, tapering inwards towards the base. There is a large central hole at the top, surrounded by a ring of eight smaller holes. The glaze is a mottled blue, with areas where the glaze is thinner and the earthenware body shows through. It is decorated at the apex with ten petals in a pale blue that extend down over the holes and onto the body.
The base is unglazed, revealing the underlying ceramic body to be earthenware. It is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 6.2cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 90g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
