This is a charming example of a small porcelain jug, maker unknown and probably dating to the latter quarter of the 20th century.
The jug has an undulating rim, which tapers upwards to form a pouring spout. The body is of low bulbous form and is moulded with six facets; this renders the base hexagonal in shape. Each panel is moulded with a fine beaded lattice motif below the rim, followed by an elongated beaded cartouche with a central raised floral motif. This has been hand-painted with pink, blue, yellow ochre, and green. The remainder of the piece is a pale, creamy off-white shade.
The handle is of looped form, with a central moulded rope-like design. The edges of the handle have raised beads, echoing the design on the body.
The base is domed in the centre and unmarked.
It has a maximum height (to the spout) of approximately 12.4cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 200g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
