This is a pair of good quality lead crystal brandy glasses from the ‘Malvern’ suite produced by Royal Albert Crystal.
Each glass has a classic balloon-shaped bowl, which is cut around the centre with six large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Where adjacent crosses meet it is surmounted by a short vertical cut extending towards the rim. Below this point, within the diamond-shaped panel formed between adjacent large crosses, is a Y-shaped cut; the centre of this is surmounted by a small cross cut within the diamond-shaped facet formed. Where the limbs of adjacent Y-cuts cross, above the centre of each large cross, it is surmounted by a three-pointed fan. Below it is a small cross-cut within a diamond-shaped facet. Below the centre of each large cross is an elongated vertical cut.
The bowl merges with the short stem and plain, flat foot. They are unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.5cm and across the foot of about 7.3cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of about 375ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 560g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
