This is a pair of high-quality cut lead crystal sherry glasses from the Richardson Glassworks.
The bucket-shaped bowl is cut with five large crosses, the upper and lower limbs of which come into close approximation. Within the diamond-shaped panel thus formed is a further cross with elongated lower limbs that cross over the lower limbs of adjacent large crosses. Each large cross is surmounted by a three-limbed fan.
The stem is of short baluster form, merging with the star-cut foot. The latter is marked with a Union Flag and the words ‘RICHARDSON BRITISH’.
