This is a charming pair of soda glass ‘pub’ or ‘tavern’ rummers dating to the latter quarter of the 19th century.
The cylindrical bowl has a thickened base and is engraved below the rim with a fine circumferential band surmounted by a ring of matte horizontal dashes. Below this, the bowl is matte cut with three rows of three eight-pointed stars.
The stem is broadly cylindrical, with globular upper and lower attachments. The foot is roughly circular and unmarked.
Each glass has a height of approximately 13.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.9cm and across the foot of about 6.6cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 230ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 440g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
