Melba Ware (H. A. Wain & Sons) Ceramic Pekingese Dog Figure with Original Sticker

This is a charming example of a ceramic Pekingese figure produced under the trade name ‘Melba Ware’ by H. A. Wain & Sons.

The dog is beautifully moulded so that the texture of his fur and his facial features are lifelike.

The underside of the feet is unglazed, revealing the underlying ceramic body to be white. The underside of the belly is transfer printed with the words ‘MELBA WARE ENGLAND’.

In addition, the piece bears the original green and gold label, which reads ‘MELBA WARE ENGLAND’.

It has a height of approximately 13.7cm, with a maximum length of about 25.0cm.

It has an unwrapped weight of 640g.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
