This is a good quality lead crystal custard cup, maker unknown but probably dating to around 1870.
The bucket-shaped bowl is cut in its lower half with a band of elongated vertical wedge cuts. The handle is of classic rounded form, sitting below the rim and curving down to a thick lower attachment above the base of the bowl. The latter is thickened and merges with the short stem. The foot is plain with the remains of a Y-shaped tool mark in the centre.
It has a height of approximately 7.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.2cm and across the foot of about 4.9cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 90g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
