This is a classic example of a candlestick from the ‘Arthur’ range produced by Wedgwood Glass in the 1980s.
The bowl is cylindrical with an everted rim. It sits on an elongated cylindrical stem, which is hollow, and a plain, discoid foot. The latter is unmarked but bears the original plastic label, which reads ‘WEDGWOOD LEAD CRYSTAL ENGLAND’.
This candlestick has the pattern number W29/3, the largest of the three produced for this range. The glass is in the popular ‘Midnight’ colourway.
It has a height of approximately 26.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.6cm and across the foot of about 9.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 200g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
