This is a highly attractive and unusually large example of a flower vase produced by Jersey Pottery.
The vase has a broad, trumpet-shaped rim, tapering slightly to form the cylindrical neck. This merges with the flattened, globular body. There is a discoid foot rim at the base; in the centre, it is marked in black with the words ‘JERSEY POTTERY C.I.’.
The exterior is washed in a pale yellow shade. The body is hand-painted with a trailing foliate motif in pale beige, with sprigs of flowers in yellow. The interior is glazed in an off-white shade.
It has a height of approximately 26.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 13.9cm and across the base of about 8.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 1210g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd burst bubble within the glaze.
