This is a high-quality bone china cake plate from the ‘Braganza’ suite by Colclough.
The cake plate has a gently scalloped gilded edge and is moulded with two handles that are pulled out from the rim. They are decorated with a raised feathered and scrolled motif. Within the rim is a stylised floral motif in various shades of blue. This pattern is repeated in five bands around the edge.
The underside is plain and marked in the centre with a black crown logo surmounting the words ‘COLCLOUGH BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND’.
It has a maximum width across the handles of approximately 26.8cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 460g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few wear and tear scratches to the surface commensurate with age.
