This is a nice example of an oval platter from the ‘Filigree’ range, possibly designed by Sue Heaven in 1971 for Chance Glass.
The oval plate has a gilded rim and is decorated with a stylised floral motif in white.
It bears the remains of the original black and gold label, which reads ‘CHANCE GLASS A MEMBER OF THE PILKINGTON GROUP MADE IN ENGLAND’. This label was used by Chance Glass from 1970 to 1981.
It has a maximum length of approximately 34.7cm and a width of about 13.7cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 280g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although the gilded rim is quite worn in places, and the sticker is faded.
