This is a kitsch and unusual example of a ceramic flower bowl, maker unknown but probably dating to the latter part of the 20th century.
The piece has a mid-century shape, with an angular, boat-shaped body that dips down at the ends. The body sits on a plinth-like base. The underside is plain and unmarked.
The body is moulded with a vertically wavy design that has been glazed with a striking pale blue shade. This has an unusual iridescent finish, which gives it shades of pink, purple, and green.
The interior retains the original metal coiled wire flower holder.
It has a maximum height of approximately 10.4cm, with a maximum length of 27.2cm and a maximum width of 9.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 680g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there are a few scratches to the glaze commensurate with age.
