This is a nice example of a seated horse figure, probably designed by Boris Vorobyov for the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.
The figure has a smooth rounded appearance and is rather stylised. It is hand-painted in brown with the eyes picked out in black. The hooves are grey, and the legs and nose are white.
The underside is marked in red with the Russian equivalent of the letters ‘LFZ’. The abbreviation LFZ comes from the factory name in Russian – Lomonosovkiy Farforoviy Zavod. It also has the words ‘MADE IN USSR’. This implies that this piece was produced before the fall of the Soviet Union.
It has a maximum height of approximately 10.7cm and a maximum length of about 14.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 240g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
