This is a nice example of a cut glass custard or punch cup dating to the latter quarter of the 19th century.
The rounded body sits on a thickened base that is polished flat. The body is cut around the centre with a band of deep vertical leaf-shaped wedge cuts. The handle is attached just below the rim, tapering in and attaching just above the base. The latter is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 5.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.2cm and across the base of about 3.1cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 90g.
It is in good condition for its age, although there are a couple of very small nicks out of the cutting around the body. These are unsurprising for something around 140 years old, but this wear is reflected in the price.
