Pair of Dartington Glass ‘Compleat Imbiber’ Design Port Glasses FT151/2 in Original Box

This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal port glasses from the ‘Compleat Imbiber’ suite designed by Frank Thrower for Dartington Crystal.

The cylindrical bowl tapers in at the thickened base to a solid cylindrical stem. This then flares out to form the slightly domed foot. The latter is unmarked.

In addition, the glasses come in their original Dartington Glass box. There is a label on the underside which states that they are ‘slightly imperfect’; this suggests that the glasses are of seconds quality.

Each glass has a height of approximately 11.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.6cm and across the foot of about 6.2cm. There may be minor discrepancies in the dimensions, due to the handmade nature of the glasses.

Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 180ml.

They have an unwrapped weight of 360g.

They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although there may be the odd wear and tear scratch commensurate with use.
