This is a classic example of a glass bud vase produced by Whitefriars Glass and dating to the 1960s.
The vase is made from blue glass encased in a layer of flint (clear) glass. It has a lobed rim that resembles a beak, hence the name. The piece narrows slightly before widening out again to form the bulbous base. The latter is flat with a polished pontil.
This piece has pattern number 9556 and appears on page 12 of the 1964 Whitefriars catalogue.

It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
