This is a high-quality cut lead crystal small cocktail glass from the ‘Colleen’ suite produced by Waterford Crystal.
The coupe-shaped bowl is cut below the rim with a ring of twelve (12) circular facets (or printies). Below this, the lower half of the bowl is cut with seven rows of raised diamonds that diminish in size as they approach the base of the bowl. There is a discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the short stem, which has a central multifaceted ball knop.
The foot is plain and discoid, and marked in the centre with the word ‘WATERFORD’.
This glass is from the ‘short stem’ version of the ‘Colleen’ suite. It is sometimes referred to as a liqueur cocktail or a liquor cocktail. It is designed for short cocktails, with little or no mixers in, as opposed to long cocktails that have non-alcoholic mixers in, like soda or tonic.
It has a height of approximately 9.1cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 7.8cm and across the foot of about 6.7cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 125ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 230g.
It is in good condition, with no chips or cracks, although there is the odd faint wear and tear scratch to the bowl commensurate with use.
