This is a high-quality cut lead crystal brandy glass from the ‘Silhouette’ suite produced by Edinburgh Crystal.
The balloon-shaped bowl is cut with ten large crosses, the lower limbs bisecting those of the adjacent cross to create a row of smaller crosses below. Each large cross is surmounted by a three-pointed fan. In the diamond-shaped panels formed between adjacent large crosses is a smaller cross, with elongated lower limbs. This is bisected by a vertical wedge cut, which extends down towards the base of the bowl.
The bowl sits on a plain, straight stem, which in turn merges with the discoid, star-cut foot. The latter is unmarked.
It has a height of approximately 12.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.3cm and across the foot of about 6.9cm.
It has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 325ml.
It has an unwrapped weight of 250g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
