This is a simple yet attractive example of a posy vase by Tintagel Pottery.
The vase is of flattened globular form with a short neck and an everted rim. It is decorated with a central band of stripes in pale blue, salmon pink, white and turquoise. The rim and the base are also glazed in turquoise, which is also streaked with a metallic dark grey glaze. The interior is glazed in white.
The base is unglazed, revealing the underlying earthenware body. It is impressed with the words ‘TINTAGEL POTTERY’. In addition, it is incised with the number ‘2117’.
It has a height of approximately 6.8cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.6cm and a diameter across the base of about 5.5cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 120g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
