This is a collection of three metal tins produced by OXO and originally sold containing their iconic beef stock cubes.
The largest tin is red and white, featuring simple OXO branding. It has a height of approximately 5.3cm, with a maximum length of about 15.6cm and a width of about 12.0cm.
The medium-sized tin is also red, but the front is printed with a man holding a mug of OXO and wearing a Union Flag waistcoat. It bears the original yellow price sticker on one side, which reads ‘PRICE 1.37P’. It has a height of approximately 5.1cm, with a maximum length of about 13.6cm and a maximum width of about 9.3cm.
The smallest tin is a commemorative edition, celebrating 75 years of OXO. The sides are printed in red and white, and the lid in blue with the words ’75 YEARS OF OXO’ and ‘DIAMOND JUBILEE 1910-1985’. There is an image of a child holding a weight up, followed by the words ‘AFTER ALL THIS TIME WE’RE STILL GOING STRONG!’ It has a height of approximately 7.7cm and a width and depth of about 9.2cm.
They have an unwrapped weight of 340g.
They are in good used condition, and there is some tarnishing to the interiors and edges that is commensurate with age. There is the odd scratch to the exterior, which is to be expected given their age and intended use.
