This is a striking glass vase in retro form by Tarnowiec of Poland.
The vase has a galleried rim that tapers in to meet two rings in the neck. The middle of the vase is of flattened globular form. This surmounts a final discoid ring and a pedestal-like base. The latter is plain and unmarked.
The whole is made from ruby glass encased in a layer of clear (flint) glass.
The vase bears the remains of the original plastic label. It shows the company logo in the centre and the words ‘MADE IN POLAND’. This sticker is attributable to Tarnowiec of Poland.
It has a height of approximately 30.4cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 16.2cm and across the base of about 14.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 2070g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although the sticker is worn.
