This is a classic example of a large ceramic saucer from the ‘Mon Amie’ range, designed by Marianne Westman for Rörstrand of Sweden.
The saucer is decorated with a pattern of two rings of stylised flowers in varying shades of cobalt blue. The central reserve for the cup is white. The rim curves upwards at an angle of about forty – five degrees.
The underside is white. The centre bears an underglaze blue transfer, which reads ‘VDN P555 MON AMIE RORSTRAND SWEDEN’, and is flanked by blue flowers.
It has a diameter across the rim of about 16.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 160g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
