This is a high-quality tea cup and saucer set from the ‘Creation’ range in the ‘Stonehenge’ shape by Midwinter.
The cup is broadly cylindrical with a thickened rim. There is a small circular handle on one side. The underside is impressed with the words ‘MIDWINTER ENGLAND’.
The saucer has a raised edge and a central cup ring. It is marked on the underside with the words ‘STONEHENGE MIDWINTER ® MADE IN ENGLAND’.
Both pieces are glazed in a pale stone-grey shade, which is speckled with brown. This brown glaze has been applied heavily around the rim of the cup and the saucer.
The cup has a height of approximately 6.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 9.0cm and across the base of about 8.5cm. The saucer has a diameter across the rim of about 15.9cm.
The cup has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 250ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 430g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
