This is a simple yet striking piece of kitchenalia dating to the late 20th century.
The bread crock is made from thick beige stoneware and is approximately cylindrical with a flattened rim. It is printed on one side in black with the word ‘BREAD’.
The underside of the base is transfer printed with ‘OVEN AND FREEZER PROOF ESTABLISHED 1810 PEARSONS OF CHESTERFIELD MICROWAVE AND DISHWASHER SAFE’.
The lid has a flattened edge and is domed in the centre. It has a short flattened discoid knop.
It has a maximum height to the knop of approximately 28.5cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 24.9cm and across the base of about 21.0cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 5350g.
It is in very good condition, although there are some very minor chips to the inside lip of the lid commensurate with use.
