This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal brandy glasses from the ‘Tewkesbury’ suite by Stuart Crystal.
The rounded bowl merges imperceptibly with the plain, slighted-waisted stem. It is cut in its lower half with a lattice formed from three rows of wide interlocking crosses. There is a vertical wedge cut within the upper arms of each cross on the uppermost row and where adjacent crosses meet.
The foot is star cut and marked at the edge with the words ‘STUART CRYSTAL’.
Each glass bears the original black paper label, which reads ‘STUART CRYSTAL’. In addition, the glasses come in their original black satin-lined display box.
Each glass has a height of approximately 12.7cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 6.5cm and across the foot of about 7.6cm.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 315ml.
They have an unwrapped weight (including their box) of 890g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, although the display box is quite worn around the edges.
