This is a pair of high-quality lead crystal large wine goblets from the ‘Imperial’ suite made in Czechoslovakia for John Jenkins.
The capacious bowl is bucket-shaped with a thickened base. There is a discoid collar at the junction of the bowl and the stem. The latter is formed by a bladed knop surmounting a panel-cut baluster. There is a further collar at the junction of the stem and the plain, flat foot. The latter is unmarked.
Each glass bears the original silver and blue sticker, which reads ‘JOHN JENKINS INTERNATIONAL PORCELAIN, CRYSTAL & GLASS MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA’.
Each glass has a height of approximately 17.2cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 9.0cm and across the foot of about 8.2cm.
I believe this may correspond to the ‘large goblet’ size, which (according to the catalogue) is supposed to hold 10oz. If matching to your existing set, then please check the dimensions carefully.
Each glass has a liquid capacity (to the brim) of 320ml.
They have an unwrapped weight of 520g.
They are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
