This is a good-quality lead crystal wine glass rinser or cooler, probably dating to between 1820 and 1830.
The rounded bowl has two pouring spouts drawn out from the rim on opposite sides of the bowl. Below this, it is cut with nine broad panels with curved upper margins. This renders the star-cut base nonagonal in shape.
It has a height of approximately 9.1cm. with a diameter across the rim of about 12.1cm and a width the base of about 6.3cm. It has a maximum width across the rim, from spout to spout, of 14.2cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 490g.
It is in good condition, although there are a number of wear and tear scratches to the body and base, commensurate with age and use. There are also a few very small nicks from the cutting on the body and the star-cut base. This is only visible on close inspection but is reflected in the price.
