This is a nice example of a flower bowl or candle holder from the ‘Vortex’ range produced by Paul Miller at Langham Glass House.
The piece has an everted rim and a high waist that then widens out to form the angular body. The body is made from mottled amber glass with lots of enclosed bubbles, through which is swirled a dark brown stripe.
The body sits on a thick, cylindrical base made from flint (clear) glass. This has a central polished pontil on the underside and is unmarked.
The piece bears the original black and gold paper label, which is attached below the rim, and depicts their glassblower logo and the words ‘LANGHAM GLASS HOUSE HAND MADE ENGLAND’.
It has a height of approximately 14.6cm, with a diameter across the rim of about 13.9cm and across the base of about 8.3cm.
It has an unwrapped weight of 870g.
It is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.
